This Week's Scripture

"Nor shall you bring an abomination into your house, lest you be doomed to destruction like it." Deuteronomy 7:26

This Week's Prayer!

We invite Your Holy Spirit to dwell in these rooms, which belongs to Henry, Anthony, Zoƫ, Asa, Rose, Grace, and Elijah, and in Heidi, Angel, and Angela's room. You are Lord over heaven and earth, and we proclaim that You are Lord over their rooms as well. Flood it with Your light and life. We pray that You, Lord, will make their rooms a holy place, sanctified for Your glory. And may You also dwell in our room and in each one of our extended family and friend's rooms.

Shrimp Dip! Carrot Salad! Fig Strawberry Jam!

I know this is a weird combo..... I did not cook all of this on the same day! This shrimp dip was delicious! You just can't go wrong when you have two packs of cream cheese in a recipe for me!!
Shrimp Dip Recipe:
2 packs cream cheese
handful of green onions
handful of celery
2 cans shrimp
a little worshtershire
a little hot sauce
mix and Enjoy!!

I made this carrot salad as another way for my children to eat carrots!
Carrot Salad recipe:
Shred about 6-7 carrots
add 3/4 cup mayo
1/3 cup sugar
a cup of raisins
Mix and Enjoy!

I love to can! Before we had children I canned all the time.....big batches of it.....salsa, chutneys, jams, pepper jellies. I would save some for me and give a lot away as gifts! Tonight I made this fig strawberry jam from the figs on our tree!

Fiber and Protein!

Just wanted to share my latest new lunch sandwich thanks to my sister-in-law, Jill!! This is a whole wheat tortilla with 14 grams of fiber in one tortilla not to forget it also has 8 grams of protein. I make mine with a little mayo, some turkey and ham, muenster cheese, spinach leaves (great source of folic acid), and thinly sliced red onions! (and home grown tomatoes when I have some) Delicious!!

Then I have a favorite quick breakfast food: English muffins! One English muffin has 7 grams of protein!!

We always have bananas that need to either be eatin' yesterday or thrown away tomorrow! This morning I was going to make a banana bread but I did not have any baking soda or powder so I used the pancake mix and tweaked it. Here's the recipe:

Pancake mix following directions
add two smashed bananas in the batter
