This Week's Prayer!
We invite Your Holy Spirit to dwell in these rooms, which belongs to Henry, Anthony, Zoë, Asa, Rose, Grace, and Elijah, and in Heidi, Angel, and Angela's room. You are Lord over heaven and earth, and we proclaim that You are Lord over their rooms as well. Flood it with Your light and life. We pray that You, Lord, will make their rooms a holy place, sanctified for Your glory. And may You also dwell in our room and in each one of our extended family and friend's rooms.
In 2004, when Tommy and I were researching resources to start an orphan adoption ministry, I came across a man with compassion for the orphan.....his name is Tom Davis. I spoke to him once on the phone and could tell immediately his heart for the orphan! His first book,
Fields of the Fatherless, touched my heart in an amazing way. His new book,
Red Letters: Living a Faith that Bleeds is no different. Tom, with all his passion that he has for the orphan, takes the reader on an amazing journey of how to live out the gospel! His passion is contagious!! His stories are real life. This book is not for the person who is satisfied with mundane living. This book is for the person who wants to live a faith that bleeds, who wants to know how to be Jesus' hands and feet to the HIV/AIDS orphan, to the abused lonely child in Russia, to the outcast and the downtrodden!

Before children, I was an avid book reader! However, with so many children, reading a book is VERY rare! On the last day of our beach vacation, Mollie handed me this book. It is definitely not a title of a book I would have picked up for myself so if it had not been for Mollie handing me this book to read I probably would not have read it. Thank you, Mollie, for putting such a powerful, Godly book in my hand. I was able to read it almost all the way home from Destin and then I finished it the next day while the toddlers took a nap. I have since passed it on for someone else to read. The book is written by Donna Frank. She attends Healing Place Church. I just had to meet her after reading her book and hug her! So now I am putting it on my blog to get the word out. Donna is an amazing woman! She holds back nothing of the abuse from her past as she writes her life testimony. She is a hero in my eyes! She is faith in action! I admire her very much for the life she came out of and the daughter of Christ she is today. The book is called
