This Week's Scripture

"Nor shall you bring an abomination into your house, lest you be doomed to destruction like it." Deuteronomy 7:26

This Week's Prayer!

We invite Your Holy Spirit to dwell in these rooms, which belongs to Henry, Anthony, Zoƫ, Asa, Rose, Grace, and Elijah, and in Heidi, Angel, and Angela's room. You are Lord over heaven and earth, and we proclaim that You are Lord over their rooms as well. Flood it with Your light and life. We pray that You, Lord, will make their rooms a holy place, sanctified for Your glory. And may You also dwell in our room and in each one of our extended family and friend's rooms.

Adoption Support Group Fellowship, Dress Top for me and New Sewing Pattern!

We had our adoption fellowship at our home last week! You can go to our orphan adoption blog and see all our blessings of the day! Also, our 4th was great..... no plans (I mean absolutely no plans)..... we did not even know what we were eating for lunch until Tommy went to the store at 10a that morning!! We sat outside relaxed and watched the little ones play in their kiddie pools and that was it..... so I have to say it was a great day!! Hope yours was great too!

Oh, and I have a new SewSensible sewing pattern that I released last week and I am actually working on a Women's Dress Top! I made a couple for me which I enjoyed so much!! I had to use whatever fabric I had so this one was made using different prints!

Birthday pictures, awesome fellowship, and no blue kitchen!

Bye Bye, Blue!

I am finally putting the Birthday pictures up!! Just a great great beautiful day! Sam's is our new favorite place to buy cakes!! For less than $33 we had a half sheet princess cake that feeds 48 and 30 princess cupcakes to match! It was so beautiful and delicious!! It just made such a sweet presentation! Grandma and Grampa visited the day before and gave a great game that has been enjoyed so much by all the little ones. Grandmother CC gave some great books. Grace received a cute and fun princess sheet set from Mia and Annalyce and Ethan! She loves all of this. We gave her two real ballet outfits that she now wears ALL the time! My prayer is that Tommy and I enjoy everyday with our children..... everyday!! Below are some pictures from the adoption support group fellowship we had the same day. I actually snuck Grace's little birthday party in that day further in the backyard! Two great celebrations last Sunday: birth and adoption!!!!!

Chapman Family

Our prayers are with you, Stephen and Mary Beth and the entire Chapman family! We cry out to God for His strength for you during this time! No words can express the deepest sadness we have for this news! I am numb at this news!
Please pray for Stephen Curtis Chapman his wife Mary Beth and their entire family. Yesterday they experienced tragedy at their home. Their youngest daughter Maria was hit and killed in their driveway in Tennessee. Maria was one of three daughters they adopted from China. Stephen Curtis Chapman and his wife had just returned from doing mission work in China and he is currently doing a tour to bring forth awareness about adoption! Please lift their entire family up to God for His strength for them! They are a very close knit family and I cannot imagine the pain they are going through as they grieve the loss of their youngest daughter, grieve with the son who accidentally was involved in this and also their oldest daughter Emily got engaged yesterday. They need everybody crying out to God for them!

Family Day and Birthday!

This past Saturday was Rose's 5th Birthday!! I feel so bad that I did not post about it on the day of her birthday! We were pretty busy that day and had lots of fun! The morning was spent getting everything ready for Tommy's work family day at the Fairgrounds. Tommy was at the HPC Men's Conference which he said was awesome! With Tommy not home that morning, it was actually a smooth morning with no real problems! Praise God! We picked Tommy up and went to the fairgrounds. It was a little hot but we love the outdoors so we enjoyed all the toddler inflatables, the kiddie games, painting of the faces, hamburgers, chips, coke, lemonade, chocolate chip cookies, popcorn, snowballs, and cotton candy! Rose kept telling us she gets to go upstairs now at children's church. Asa was moved up to the five year old class last week and Rose has been anticipating her going since then. We even had some crying when we brought her to the four year old room a couple of times. She is so used to having a brother or sister with her!

After we let them get out lots of energy, we picked up a cupcake cake to sing Happy Birthday to Rose at home! I can't believe she is already 5!!

I have told this story before but will give a short recap of how God introduced us to Rose! We did not know about her nor did Henry, Anthony, and Heidi. I was so ready to adopt the older children but Tommy kept telling me he did not have peace to pursue adopting them yet! Well, praise God he was not swayed by me because the reason he did not have peace yet was because if we would have adopted the older ones when I wanted to then we would have not been able to adopt Rose!! The Peace of God!!!!! Don't ever underestimate it!! Anyway, several months later we received an email from our Peruvian lawyer telling us of a fourth child and asking us if we would be interested in adopting her. As soon as I saw her picture I just knew she was ours!! I printed out the email and ran to Tommy and as soon as he read it he said the peace of God came over him and he knew it was time to adopt them all!!!!!

Happy 5th Birthday, Debora Rose!!!!! We love you so much and thank God for saving you for us!! Praise God!! God, thank you for Your peace and for Tommy's discernment. Thank you for this precious gift and choosing us to be her parents! Thank you for the miracel of adoption!!

Adoption Fellowship!

What fun!! I am always moved when our "His Heart for Orphans" Adoption ministry lifegroup meets together for our quarterly fellowships!! It is just awesome to see all our children that came from orphanages living the life the way God has intended for them: with a hope and a future!! Thank you, God, for our children (the ones we adopted and the ones we birthed)!!

Welcome Friends! Ciao Friends!

We have had the privilege of being able to have some of our friends from Peru in our home this week! Doris and Lucia are two missionary women in Peru that raised Rose, one of our daughters, at Asociacion Cristiana El Refugio the first two years of her life! They truly are women of God that work hard at what God has called them to do. The orphanage they run is more like a home than a place that houses children. They treat each child as their own. We really could see a difference in Rose versus our other Peruvian children who were raised in different orphanages. Thank you, Doris and Lucia, for pouring God's love into Rose!! And thank you for taking your time to come and be our guests in our home. We truly enjoyed your visit!!

Adoption

What if more people opened their hearts to adopt? I would love to shout out to the world that if you want to experience a miracle then adopt. I do believe adoption is a calling from God not a command but are there some that are being called to adopt and for some reason or another have not taken heed to the call? My prayer is for the bold to come forward, for the courageous to step out in faith and believe, to adopt, to give a precious child without a mom or dad a hope and a future, to give this precious child a family to call her/his own. There are so many children who crave the love of a mother, the voice of a father. To adopt is to experience a miracle.
