This Week's Scripture

"Nor shall you bring an abomination into your house, lest you be doomed to destruction like it." Deuteronomy 7:26

This Week's Prayer!

We invite Your Holy Spirit to dwell in these rooms, which belongs to Henry, Anthony, Zoƫ, Asa, Rose, Grace, and Elijah, and in Heidi, Angel, and Angela's room. You are Lord over heaven and earth, and we proclaim that You are Lord over their rooms as well. Flood it with Your light and life. We pray that You, Lord, will make their rooms a holy place, sanctified for Your glory. And may You also dwell in our room and in each one of our extended family and friend's rooms.

What a Weekend!

This was just a very enjoyable weekend..... playing at the park, ice cream, bbq grilling, boys playing baseball, toddlers riding the John Deere Gator, My Man cleaning weeds, limbs, and branches, rocking on the front porch, enjoying the Grandparents enjoying the children!

There is so much going on in our home. Our oldest daughter is getting married and is about to move to Alexandria. School has ended which means more laughter and more discipline at home; but, however, our 11 year old will be starting summer school next week. I am planning my summer activities now to combat any boredom or idleness that may try to enter into this home! I also have been praying about homeschooling our younger children and am now sure that this is what I want to do. I have been researching the different homeschool curriculums and have narrowed it down to Abeka and Advanced Training Institute International. I taught Kindergarten for three years and used the Abeka curriculum so I am very familiar with it and just love the phonics and cursive writing programs. I do not like the Abeka Math though. I also am very interested in ATI but they do not really start their teaching until the child is 7 years old. Until then, they recommend CCC (Christ-Centered Curriculum). And actually a friend gave me this curriculum several years ago. I need to look for it in the attic. But after reviewing it, I still believe I will teach the Abeka curriculum until they are seven and then switch to ATI. I am very excited about this! I am so excited, that I am going to start this summer instead of waiting until August. I will, of course, keep all posted in this endeavor!

Love the pictures! I am praying all will be well with Heidi. Keep us posted on Homeschooling. I am so curious about doing that too but feel so intimidated!! I feel unqualified to be 'teacher'.

Let me know what ideas you come up with for keeping things fun this summer! We are trying to do the same. No boredom! What a task.

Many blessings.

I am pretty freaked out about the homeschooling thing for E. I am not going to start until August that is for sure.

E does not do well with Abeka. I have talked to several friends and I am pretty sure I will use Saxton math and I think sonlight? is the name of the rest, I am getting it from a friend who has homeschooled four kids so far.
