This Week's Scripture

"Nor shall you bring an abomination into your house, lest you be doomed to destruction like it." Deuteronomy 7:26

This Week's Prayer!

We invite Your Holy Spirit to dwell in these rooms, which belongs to Henry, Anthony, Zoƫ, Asa, Rose, Grace, and Elijah, and in Heidi, Angel, and Angela's room. You are Lord over heaven and earth, and we proclaim that You are Lord over their rooms as well. Flood it with Your light and life. We pray that You, Lord, will make their rooms a holy place, sanctified for Your glory. And may You also dwell in our room and in each one of our extended family and friend's rooms.

We got home today after going to my niece's baptism and to our amazement our cucumber seeds we planted several days ago have sprouted!! Everybody was so excited!! Now they are asking when are the cucumbers going to be here?? Let's hope I do this right.

My husband has a garden and he said these need to be put into a small plot of ground about 3" apart. If you don't have that space available to you put them into a big pot or window box with 6"-8" of soil underneath them. They will also need to have something for the vines to climb up on if at all possible to keep them off the ground. It will take 65 days, from when you first planted them, to produce cucumbers. Hope you have a bumper crop!!!

I think occasionally, when I do not have a thought to add to something you post, I will actually start posting the following comment:

and that will be all I type! What do you think? It will be our little code! haha

Penless thoughts, thank you for the great advice! Of course, I will let you know when we have our "bumper crop"! (I have never heard it said like that but I think I will adopt that saying if you don't mind. Ha ha)

Oh, and MorningSong, I even noticed I use to ?? instead of just one! Do you do that??

In response to your comments: We lived in Lima for 9 years when I was growing up. So Peru has a special place in my heart too, which is why I love coming across people who are familiar with the country! We had some really good friends who worked with Scripture Union, which was an organization that worked with the street children of Lima. They had a pretty neat ministry, and an amazing program that the street boys would put on for visitors about what Christ means to them. I strongly suggest getting in touch with Scripture Union if you ever go back, if you haven't already. :-)

I remember those days of childhood of sprouting bean in a styrofoam cup. It brings back such great memories!! It seemed as if they sprouted so fast too!! I wished my garden would grow as fast :) Your kids are adorable!! Good luck with those cucumbers--I'm sure you will be eating salad before too long!
