This Week's Scripture

"Nor shall you bring an abomination into your house, lest you be doomed to destruction like it." Deuteronomy 7:26

This Week's Prayer!

We invite Your Holy Spirit to dwell in these rooms, which belongs to Henry, Anthony, Zoƫ, Asa, Rose, Grace, and Elijah, and in Heidi, Angel, and Angela's room. You are Lord over heaven and earth, and we proclaim that You are Lord over their rooms as well. Flood it with Your light and life. We pray that You, Lord, will make their rooms a holy place, sanctified for Your glory. And may You also dwell in our room and in each one of our extended family and friend's rooms.

Blogaholic! Say "Aye!" (Part 1)

All in favor of a Blogaholic's Anonymous Say "Aye"....."Aye"!!
I must admit that I am addicted to blogs. Not only have they become a unique way to keep extended family up-to-date with family life but they have also become such a fun and exciting way to meet other Christian women just like me: stay-at-home Moms, Moms who are passionate about raising their children, Moms with a vision, Moms with hopes and dreams, but also I meet Moms who desire to get to know other Godly Moms just like me and blogging has become a great way to meet them! However, I must admit blogging can be addictive. I have definitely been guilty of this. I decided to write this post today when I came across several women who were pulling the plug on their blogs to devote more time to their families. From what I understand, these women were spending hours in front of the computer. And this is easy to do with blogging and surfing! I know!! Where is the balance and when is it a problem? I believe it becomes a problem when we start neglecting the very things that are dear to all of our hearts.....our relationship with God and our family! This is the question I am asking myself. I am not going to pull the plug on blogging but I am going to find balance and set some limits for me. I believe blogging is good!
I would love to hear others point of view about this subject!
On Part 2, I will discuss the balance of blogging!

Hi, I'm Leigh Ann...and I'm a blogaholic!

It is very addictive, but one thing that has helped me is setting up a bloglines account to get the updates of the blogs I read. But, I still spend a lot of time reading previous posts and commenting - but for me...this is such an outlet - it meets the need of having like minded women to talk with.
Truthfully, I have found many blogs that challenge me in my walk and I have made so many friends - it has truly been a blessing - but it can take over if I am not careful!

I too am a blogaholic! I am really having to set limits. I am addicted to comments. Are there any comments yet? Has anyone stopped by for a little visit? Does anyone have an update on their blog? I am really trying to limit myself to one hour in the AM and one hour in the PM. I don't know, maybe that is too long. Maybe it should be only one hour for the day, split b/w AM and PM. I really feel out of control. I too am trying to find the right balance! Looking forward to part 2!

Thank you for stopping by my blog. I'm glad to find you!

Balance in blogging is important, as in every aspect of life. Thank you for the reminder! We are called to "redeem the time," and I am convicted to limit computer time.

Great thoughts on blogging. Awhile back I found I was spending too much time blogging. I have to stay on top of keeping it balanced along with all the other things that creep in on my calendar and my time!

I just linked onto you from Leigh Ann and read your adoption story not only to myself but aloud to my husband. You brought so many tears to my eyes. What wonderful people you have to be. God bless you and I know He has and I know He will.

This touches my heart as well. I love what I get from blogging and from reading other blogs. But as you said, if I'm not careful, then I'm neglecting what truly matters to me, my family.

I agree with Leigh Ann in that Bloglines has helped to save me time from visiting blogs that haven't been updated.

But like morningsong said, I can get pretty obsessed with comments and who is coming by my blog.

I've definitely traded my TV time (addiction if you will) for blogging, so I have to really work at making sure my priorities are in order.

I look forward to reading your part 2.

"Balance in blogging"....hmmmmm...I think I will do a post on that tomorrow...I have been blogging for a year and a half (I have since deleted my first blog)...however, I have finally worked out a system that allows me much more freedom from my 'addiction'....I deleted my bloglines...I no longer have a blogroll....and now I only respond to those that comment. I know this sounds a bit 'anti-social'...but I have developed several great friendships through blogging and we now correspond via email. Plus I know that should I ever wonder how 'so and so' is doing...I always know how to find them ;)Since doing this I have been able to semi-catch up on my scrapbooking, devote more time to my photography...and of course...be a wife and mom and child of God without distractions.
