This Week's Scripture

"Nor shall you bring an abomination into your house, lest you be doomed to destruction like it." Deuteronomy 7:26

This Week's Prayer!

We invite Your Holy Spirit to dwell in these rooms, which belongs to Henry, Anthony, Zoë, Asa, Rose, Grace, and Elijah, and in Heidi, Angel, and Angela's room. You are Lord over heaven and earth, and we proclaim that You are Lord over their rooms as well. Flood it with Your light and life. We pray that You, Lord, will make their rooms a holy place, sanctified for Your glory. And may You also dwell in our room and in each one of our extended family and friend's rooms.

Happy Birthday, Rose!

Happy Birthday, Rose!! Rose's story behind her name is that she was named Debora (no middle name) by two missionary women (El Refugio orphanage) who raised her from 2 days old until we received her when she was 21 months old. When Tommy and I were looking at family names, we started looking at our grandparents names and Tommy's Dad's Mom was named Lima Rose. As soon as I heard this name I knew we would name our daughter Rose. And Rose is from Lima, Peru. Out of respect for the two missionary women who prayed for a name we decided to keep Debora as her first name and Rose as her middle name but we call her Rose. But before knowing about Rose right after we came back from adopting Zoë and meeting her three older sibligs, we prayed for a little over a year about adopting her three older siblings. When I would ask Tommy about adopting the older children he would say "I don't have God's peace," which really would confuse me because I knew if we did not adopt the older children nobody would and I knew it was God's will for us to adopt these children. After a year of praying about these older children, we received an email from our lawyers in Peru telling us of this precious little girl named Debora who was Zoë's biological sibling and would we be interested in adopting her and by the way, he said, would you still like to adopt the older children. Long story short, Tommy instantly received the peace of God when he saw Rose's sweet little picture. Looking back, we now realize we (or should I say Tommy) did not have peace because if we would have went ahead and adopted the older children within that year, we would have never known about Rose! And now you know.
Rose, you are a shining star in our life! You are such a blessing. I look forward to watching you grow into a mighty woman of God!
Happy Birthday!

This is a precious story. :-) I grew up in Lima, Peru (my parents were missionaries) so it was fun to read about somewhere I used to live! We met a lot of Americans who came down to adopt babies. It always makes me smile. :-)
